Overview In this role you lead quality strategy for aerospace and defense programs within VulcanForms' digital production environment. You will set quality standards, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional quality initiatives from design through production. You'll shape how quality is built into programs, leading validation, testing, and continuous improvement to ensure audit-ready, trusted outputs. This role offers impact across NPI, production scaling, and process optimization within a pioneering manufacturing platform.

Responsibilities- Primary quality engineering lead for designated product lines, managing lifecycle quality from validation to steady-state production
- Lead and execute IQ/OQ/PQ validations for NPI and line expansions
- Investigate complex NCRs, lead MRBs, and drive CAPAs to eliminate systemic failures
- Deploy and monitor SPC, define CTQ metrics, and optimize metrology/testing protocols on the factory floor
- Author/review/approve critical quality system docs (DHFs, DMRs, DHRs) for audit readiness
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process, and Machine Engineering to implement proactive quality controls and DFM initiatives
- Build a high-performing team through technical guidance, coaching, and peer reviews of junior engineers and technicians
Key requirements- 8+ years in quality engineering within a regulated advanced manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace/defense
- Proven mastery of FAIRs, process capability studies, DFMEA/PFMEA
- Hands-on experience with AS9100 or ISO 13485 QMS
- Familiarity with metal alloys, metallurgy, precision machining, or metal additive manufacturing
- ASQ CQE/CRE or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt a plus
