Private Wealth Services Tax Manager

Overview

In this role you guide complex tax planning and compliance for high net worth clients, focusing on estate, gifts, and individual taxes. You will lead multi-disciplinary client engagements, mentor staff, and collaborate with external advisers to deliver high-value, compliant solutions. The position sits within a growing Private Wealth Services Tax team that supports cross-border and cross-functional initiatives. You'll leverage strong technical acumen and client relationships to drive tax savings and service excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth clients (estate, wills and trusts, and individual income taxes)
  • Coordinate and manage client service teams across engagements, directing tax projects and budgets
  • Develop, train, and mentor tax staff; assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
  • Research and advise on federal estate, gift, charitable planning, and generation-skipping tax matters
  • Utilize tax software to prepare/processing returns and research tax matters
  • Respond to inquiries from IRS/other tax authorities
  • Maintain proactive client communication to manage expectations and deadlines
  • Support business development through proposals and pursuit activities
  • Engage in cross-adviser collaboration (attorneys, asset managers)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or licensed Bar or Enrolled Agent designation (with Masters) required
  • 6-10 years of progressive tax compliance/consulting in Family Wealth Planning or related area
  • Experience with families with net worth of $25M+ and tax strategy implementation
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills; strong client relationship track record
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities in a fast-paced team environment
