Overview

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead the development, optimization, and sustainment of Inconel LPBF manufacturing processes to enable high-volume, safe, and repeatable production. You will collaborate across Production, Quality, Materials, Equipment, and Operations to improve printer performance, yield, and process capability while scaling processes for NPI and production. Your work will drive continuous improvement, process stability, and equipment reliability on the manufacturing floor. This role offers hands-on leadership in a cutting-edge, sustainability-focused facility.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, qualify, and optimize Inconel LPBF manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost
  • Own process development for new products from initial print parameter development through production release
  • Support daily production by troubleshooting print failures, process variation, machine performance, and build quality issues
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, improve process capability, and reduce variability using statistical methods and DOE techniques
  • Develop, validate, and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing specifications
  • Partner with Equipment Engineering to commission, qualify, and improve LPBF printing systems
  • Support machine installation, IQ/OQ activities, preventative maintenance strategies, and production readiness
  • Collaborate with Materials Engineering to evaluate print parameters, material behavior, heat treatment requirements, and metallurgical performance of Inconel alloys
  • Lead root cause investigations for quality escapes, build failures, scrap, and process deviations while implementing sustainable corrective actions
  • Work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering to support new product introduction (NPI) and production scale-up
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on printer uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness(OEE), yield, cycle time reduction, and manufacturing efficiency
  • Support PFMEA development, control plans, process validation activities, and engineering change implementation
  • Mentor technicians and manufacturing personnel on best practices for LPBF process execution and equipment operation
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while promoting operational excellence
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within metal additive manufacturing, precision manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or other high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), metal additive manufacturing, CNC machining, or similarly complex manufacturing processes
  • Strong understanding of process development, statistical process control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience creating manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process specifications, and engineering standards
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues in a production environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
