Overview As a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer at Aurora, you will lead the electronics development for our custom hardware, collaborating with cross functional teams to meet performance targets. You will translate requirements into robust HW architectures and guide the bench and system integration, testing, and debugging. You'll drive production readiness and test infrastructure, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping development processes. Responsibilities- Define and develop HW architectures for Aurora's custom hardware
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to capture requirements and ensure performance targets
- Build, integrate, test, and debug electronics on bench and in systems using advanced test equipment
- Partner with mechanical, operations, and validation teams to mature designs for manufacturing and support test infrastructure
- Lead product development efforts (define/build/test) and guide junior engineers
- Define and optimize development processes to improve efficiency and quality
Key requirements- 10+ years in industry developing complex electrical hardware
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Experience working with mechanical engineering on board design and device cooling
- Expertise in system architecture, signal and power integrity, high speed signaling, grounding, analog electronics
- Strong ability to analyze EMI/EMC constraints in electro-mechanical systems
- Extensive hardware productization experience at system, board, and chip levels
- Proficiency with CAD tools for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulations
- Experience with lab instruments (TDR, oscilloscopes, analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, E-loads)
