Overview In this role, you will lead the construction and development of major mission-critical data center projects from inception to completion, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage procurement and contractual requirements, and drive commissioning and closeout activities. You'll shape project execution on large-scale, multi-site ventures while promoting sustainability and efficient operations. This is a hands-on, stakeholder-facing role with a clear impact on project delivery and operational readiness.
Responsibilities- Support planning and permitting of major projects
- Collaborate with Procurement to issue RFPs for General Contractors
- Prepare capital expenditure presentations for Director review
- Negotiate contracts with CxA, testing vendors, GC, and Subcontractors
- Manage and maintain project budgets with weekly director updates
- Lead construction and development from inception to completion
- Assist Project Development with utility coordination
- Participate in OAC meetings and LV/OFCI meetings
- Implement recycling and sustainability programs for construction
- Oversee documentation lifecycle for design-build projects
- Manage technical, contractual, and procurement requirements during project execution
- Conduct and lead weekly project status meetings with detailed reports
- Oversee engineers, subcontractors, and vendors during pre-construction, commissioning, and closeout phases
Key requirements- 7+ years of experience in mission-critical data center development, general construction, and heavy MEP systems construction
- Experience leading construction project teams with GCs, subcontractors, and third-party PMs
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost control capabilities
- Experience negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts
- Ability to monitor and enforce schedules, safety, and quality control
- Hands-on approach to daily project challenges and problem solving
- Excellent oral and written communication across stakeholders
- Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and disciplines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Procore
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Project Management accreditation (PMP or similar) preferred
