Overview As an Electrical Engineer and Engineer-of-Record, you will lead the design and engineering of water and wastewater projects, selecting and sizing electrical systems in line with codes. You'll guide design development, create 3D models, and oversee documentation, QA/QC, and constructability reviews. You'll mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and consultants, and manage scope, budget, and schedule. This role supports transformational projects that protect and improve water resources and communities.

Responsibilities- Act as Engineer-of-Record for projects or components
- Evaluate, select, and engineer electrical systems for projects
- Develop designs with sketches, models, and diagrams
- Develop 3D models of electrical systems
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and designers
- Prepare and revise design/construction documents
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to cost estimation and basic value analysis
- Develop and manage project scope, budget, and schedule
- Coordinate project specifications with construction documents
- Participate in constructability reviews and QA/QC
- Assist in development of new standards and specifications for electrical group
- Oversee field reviews and construction phase services
- Support proposal development for smaller projects
- Oversee multiple projects
- Support RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and construction conformance checks
- Develop design approaches for various project sizes
Key requirements- Requisite knowledge of industry standards and electrical/building codes
- Strong understanding of project documentation and drawings/specifications in water/wastewater
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and methods in water/wastewater
- Ability to lead teams through all project phases
- Ability to review others' work and manage time to meet budgets/schedules
- Advanced electrical engineering concepts and clear communication of ideas
- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation; Revit is a plus
- Experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and/or EasyPower is an asset
- Professional Engineering licensure and minimum 10 years of experience
