Overview

In this role you drive disciplined, scalable execution of Next 150's strategic plan across a growing portfolio. You partner with leadership, project teams, finance, safety, and HR to embed enterprise standards while maintaining subsidiary governance. You manage operating rhythms, risk, and forecast accuracy to protect margins and enable growth. You lead SOP development, project readiness, and governance to sustain performance and safety culture. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the backbone of Next 150's operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead divisional operating rhythms preparation, documentation, and follow-up (reviews, staffing, safety, financials, project recovery)
  • Standardize operating practices with project and business leaders to improve predictability and scalability
  • Act as liaison between project teams, department heads, and leadership to align strategy and execution
  • Analyze feedback from Gilbane and drive process improvements
  • Support project startup readiness (scope review, handoff, staffing, logistics, schedule, initial financial setup)
  • Develop company-wide SOPs for Gilbane Jobsite Standards and Baseline Execution Standards
  • Ensure alignment with Enterprise Baseline SOPs and Next 150 procedures
  • Support delivery of the Next 150 financial plan focusing on performance, productivity, and margin
  • Use Project Vitals results to implement risk mitigation within BUs/Divisions
  • Partner with leadership to establish multi-year financial plans and growth strategies
  • Drive disciplined use of project forecasting tools and dashboards to monitor and mitigate risk
  • Identify emerging risks with Finance and address performance gaps
  • Lead early identification and escalation of operational risks at project and portfolio levels
  • Support claims avoidance and commercial discipline per governance requirements
  • Maintain governance structures to prevent high-impact risks from entering watchlists
  • Operationalize organizational design for scalability (roles, spans of control, decision rights)
  • Collaborate with HR to onboard planned hires and maintain productivity and cultural alignment
  • Support training programs aligning with enterprise learning and divisional strategies
  • Maintain staffing plans, track needs, and coordinate with HR to ensure capacity
  • Model leadership aligned with Gilbane's values and performance culture
  • Support leadership capability and team effectiveness across operations, preconstruction, and delivery
  • Coordinate staffing transitions with workforce strategies
  • Reinforce safety as non-negotiable and embed safety into daily operations
  • Model disciplined leadership consistent with Next 150 values and performance expectations
  • Drive safety culture; review incidents and trends; implement corrective actions in safety partnership
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience including oversight of self-perform operations
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Financial management and business acumen skills
  • Remote work ability; location within U.S. with Gilbane offices
  • Salary range 215,000-300,000 plus benefits and retirement program
