Overview In this role you will contribute as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer within Exponent's Thermal Sciences Practice. You will tackle complex, interdisciplinary problems in collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver technically rigorous fire protection analyses and solutions. You will engage in code reviews, experimental design, and field investigations to support client safety and compliance. Responsibilities- Collaborate on complex interdisciplinary problems with tight deadlines
- Perform technical work including fire and building code reviews, analysis of active and passive fire protection systems
- Design, coordinate, and conduct laboratory experiments and testing
- Conduct fire and explosion investigations including hands-on field work
- Prepare proposals and technical reports; present findings to clients
Key requirements- M.S., M.Eng., M.E., or Ph.D. in Fire Protection Engineering
- Strong technical background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustion
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment
- Leadership experience in cross-functional teams
- Experience with prescriptive and/or performance-based analysis and codes/standards (NFPA, ICC, ASTM, UL)
- Industry experience related to Fire Protection Engineering (preferred)
- Hands-on experience in fire protection system design, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance (preferred)
- F.E. exam passed (preferred)
