Overview In this role you will drive design, development, and evolution of the Vision NEXT platform, a cloud-native card issuing and payment processing system. You will lead technical direction, collaborate across teams, and ensure scalable, secure, and reliable software aligned with business goals. You'll mentor engineers, translate requirements into actionable designs, and advocate best practices in cloud-native development and operational resilience. Responsibilities- Lead architecture, design, development, and deployment of software for the Vision NEXT platform
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with cross-functional partners
- Maintain high standards for coding, testing, performance, security, and reliability
- Create technical specifications and actionable designs for development teams
- Establish formal quality gates including performance, security, and resilience criteria
- Define API test automation standards and quality gates (RestAssured, Karate, Postman/Newman)
- Own REST and event-driven integration patterns (RabbitMQ, webhooks, idempotency) at enterprise scale
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers across teams
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor for Vision NEXT initiatives and client engagements
- Communicate complex concepts to clients, leadership, and global teams
- Champion best practices for cloud-native development, scalability, and continuous improvement
- Influence technical roadmaps and architectural decisions across initiatives
Key requirements- 12+ years in software development, solution delivery, or related technology disciplines
- 7+ years in technical leadership, architecture guidance, or lead engineer roles
- 7+ years in OO languages (Java, C, C#, C++, or similar) with deep Java/Spring Boot expertise
- 7+ years of experience with SQL databases
- 3+ years designing solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- 3+ years in Agile methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or 15+ years equivalent experience
