Overview In this role you will apply advanced mechanical design practices to develop automotive-focused embedded systems. You will work within a cross-functional team to translate requirements into robust CAD models and manufacturable designs, ensuring efficient assembly and integration with electronics. You will leverage multiple CAD tools and PLM systems to manage data and drive design decisions. This position offers the opportunity to influence thermal and EMI/EMC considerations for ECU assemblies in a Tier-1 context.
Responsibilities- Apply Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing methodologies in embedded mechanical design
- Create and detail CAD models using UG NX and CATIA; manage data with PLM tools ENOVIA/Teamcenter
- Support CAE activities with Ansys for mechanical analyses (preferred)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet automotive/industrial requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and customer requirements
- Contribute to thermal management and EMI/EMC design considerations for ECU assemblies
Key requirements- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded design developments
- Experience with DfA and DfM
- Proficiency with UG NX and CATIA; CAD modeling and detailing 3-6 years
- Experience with PLM tools ENOVIA or Teamcenter 3-6 years
- Familiarity with Ansys (preferred)
- Knowledge of embedded electronics design constraints
- Experience in industrial or automotive environments (Tier1 preferred)
- DFSS Belt certification (preferred)
- Thermal management expertise for ECU embedded electronics
- EMI/EMC design constraints knowledge (a plus)
- Design for Assembly (DfA)
