Electrical Engineer - Power (Multiple Locations)

Job description

Overview

In this role you will deliver electrical designs for power generation and industrial facilities, supporting both new and retrofit projects within our Power practice. You will work with project teams through design and construction, adapting plans to client needs, standards, and budgets. You will apply solid electrical engineering concepts, use design tools, and participate in field inspections and on-site execution. This position offers exposure to diverse technologies (solar, energy storage, transformers, switchgear) and the opportunity to influence multi-discipline projects at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical design from concept to design completion
  • Modify and review production drawings
  • Design electrical components to meet project requirements
  • Apply engineering concepts, codes, and procedures
  • Research and compile project data for managers
  • Utilize design software for calculations and plant designs
  • Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawings, and contracts
  • Conduct field inspections and measurements to support execution
  • Serve as field engineer on construction sites
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program with 3 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited program and FE exam completed with 3 years of experience (consulting preferred)
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of experience (consulting preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong skills in AutoCAD and MicroStation; familiarity with 2D/3D rendering and related tools
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
