Overview

In this role you will promote and support captive insurance programs by training brokers, presenting solutions, and guiding early underwriting stages. You'll blend underwriting knowledge with strong communication to ensure brokers and clients understand the captive structure and requirements. You'll manage front-end submissions, coordinate documents, and help brokers move from marketing to underwriting. You'll work with cross-functional teams to refine messaging and identify growth opportunities, contributing to the expansion of captive programs. This is a client-facing, impact-focused position that sits at the intersection of underwriting, sales, and program management.

Responsibilities
  • Educate brokers on captive program structures, guidelines, eligibility, and value propositions; create training materials and run sessions
  • Present captive solutions to brokers and clients, explaining advantages, mechanics, and performance expectations; support marketing events
  • Serve as first contact for new submissions; review applications, ensure completeness, and coordinate documentation
  • Conduct preliminary pre-eligibility assessments based on underwriting criteria and captive fit; provide early feedback to brokers and internal teams
  • Build and maintain partnerships with brokers to drive captive growth; communicate through submission and onboarding processes
  • Collaborate with program admin/management to ensure smooth transition from marketing to underwriting
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor programs, and broker feedback to refine messaging and identify growth opportunities
Key requirements
  • 3-5 years of underwriting, captive insurance, or commercial insurance marketing experience
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear messaging
  • Experience working with brokers or distribution partners
