Clinical Neurophysiology Consultant

In this Consultant Neurophysiologist role, you will support and advance the department's EEG/EMG services for adults and children, including urgent EEG reporting and supervision of video-telemetry and EMG clinics. You will collaborate with clinical teams, supervise junior physiologists, and pursue subspecialist activity (NCS/EMG, EEG, VT, or sleep work). The role emphasizes leadership, governance, and service development within a patient-centered, inclusive NHS environment. This is a permanent, full-time post with no on-call commitment, at Dorset County Hospital.

• Participate in urgent adult and paediatric EEG reporting and supervise EEG/home-video-telemetry activities
• Perform or supervise EMG/other neurophysiology clinics
• Support clinical meetings and case discussions
• Supervise and guide physiologists within the Neurophysiology department
• Express a subspecialty interest and undertake subspecialist activity (NCS/EMG, EEG, VT, sleep)

• Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
• Appropriate higher surgical/medical qualification
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT, CESR or European Community Rights (proposed CCT date within 6 months of interview)
• Clear evidence of Clinical Neurophysiology experience (EMG, NCS, EP, EEG reporting all age groups) and involvement in audit/publications
• Willingness to fulfil general service elements and possess required clinical skills
