Overview In this role you will lead bed management initiatives within the Care Command Center to optimize patient placement, capacity, and throughput. You will collaborate with nursing, transfer, and operational teams to ensure patients receive appropriate care promptly. You will develop and refine centralized bed management processes and use data-driven insights to improve access and patient flow across UF Health Hospitals. This position offers strategic influence on hospital operations and requires travel to UF Health Hospitals as needed. You will drive continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement to support system-wide capacity management.
Responsibilities- Support patient placement, capacity management, throughput optimization, and bed assignment across the health system
- Lead development and continuous improvement of centralized bed management processes
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, transfer center, patient placement, and operations teams
- Provide operational decision support through data analysis and workflow development
- Engage stakeholders and drive performance improvement initiatives to enhance access and patient flow
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination to align bed management with hospital operations
- Represent bed management initiatives in meetings and strategic planning
Key requirements- Master's in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field (explicit); 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospital operations, patient throughput, transfer center operations, or capacity management
- Current RN license in the State of Florida
- Professional nursing board certification
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to influence practice and staff
- Willingness to travel to UF Health Hospitals as needed
