Overview In this role you support Plante Moran's Healthcare Senior Living practice by delivering high-quality financial analysis and advisory support. You work with healthcare leadership to improve financial performance and influence strategic decisions, blending public accounting rigor with hands-on client advisory. You will handle accounting processes, data analysis, and reporting to help clients optimize operations and controls. Responsibilities- Assist in preparing financial accounting projects (budgets, reconciliations, board reports, monthly analyses)
- Complete monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, and client communications
- Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger and investigate issues
- Perform data collection and analysis for senior care projects using benchmark data
- Develop ideas to improve client operations and financial position
- Communicate findings in written and oral reports to clients, bankers, attorneys, and third parties
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred but not required
- 3+ years of full charge staff accountant experience (financial statement prep, reconciliations, workpapers)
- 3+ years with computerized accounting systems (general ledger to financial statements)
- Experience with PointClickCare or Sage Intacct preferred; Yardi/Peachtree/Creative Solutions a plus
- Strong Excel skills
- Fixed assets and depreciation
- Experience with FX and/or FAS preferred
- Payroll experience including quarterly and annual tax filings
- Approx. 5% overnight travel in eastern/central time zones
