Overview In this role you will lead the Data + AI underwriting initiative, shaping the end-to-end lifecycle from submission intake to pricing and portfolio steering. You drive the product vision, roadmaps, and measurable adoption across underwriting, actuarial, claims, and distribution, partnering with engineering and data science teams. You will champion responsible AI, governance, and compliance while delivering scalable AI-enabled underwriting capabilities that impact risk selection and client outcomes. Responsibilities- Define and drive the product vision, roadmap, and OKRs for Data + AI underwriting capabilities (GenAI copilots, agentic workflows, predictive models, AIDA insights ecosystem)
- Identify and ship high-value AI use cases in underwriting (submission intake automation, intelligent risk scoring, rate adequacy intelligence, exposure analytics, broker engagement)
- Lead full product lifecycle (discovery, prioritization, user stories, sprint execution, UAT, launch, adoption) with engineering, data science, and design pods
- Coordinate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and distribution leadership; communicate with engineering and executive stakeholders
- Champion model governance, explainability, data quality, and compliance in partnership with Security, EA, and Legal
- Define adoption, business value, and ROI metrics and relentlessly track them
Key requirements- 7+ years as Product Owner / Product Manager
- 3+ years shipping Data, Analytics, or AI/ML products in a regulated enterprise
- Deep P&C Insurance domain expertise (underwriting, rate change, loss ratio, submissions, portfolio mix, authority statements)
- Proven AI delivery track record (GenAI, ML, NLP, or agentic AI moved to production at scale)
- Executive-grade communication (brief CIO in three slides; write user stories engineers love)
- Agile mastery (backlog ruthlessness, sprint discipline, outcome obsession)
- Technical fluency: SQL, Python, Databricks, Azure, AWS, Power BI, LLM/AI platforms
