Overview In this role you diagnose and treat hearing and balance disorders using advanced audiology knowledge, integrating diagnostic results to guide care plans. You will conduct treatments, fittings, programming, and troubleshooting of hearing aids, and educate patients and professionals. You'll maintain records, engage in research and clinical improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices and positive outcomes. This position combines patient care, education, and ongoing professional development within an interdisciplinary setting.
Responsibilities- Provide habilitative, rehabilitative, or conservation-based treatment plans and counseling for patients and families
- Program and adjust hearing aids; troubleshoot devices and perform electroacoustic analysis and rear-ear measurements
- Coordinate and interpret diagnostic audiological data with other information to diagnose and guide treatment
- Educate patients and professionals on pre- and post-hearing aid expectations and balance disorders
- Develop and evaluate clinical and research procedures; contribute to improved evaluation methods
- Maintain comprehensive diagnostic records using appropriate software and support documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align care plans with other professionals and services
- Lead and participate in seminars/workshops to educate staff in audiology practices
Key requirements- Doctorate in Audiology, Speech and Hearing Science, or related field with minimum experience requirements (2 years for Doctorate track, 4 years for Master's track)
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Temporary Audiologist License (California) or Audiologist License (California) at hire
- California Audiologist License within 12 months of hire
