Product Engineer

Job description

Overview

In this role you will assess customer requirements and recommend suitable products, ensuring adherence to design and performance specs. You will conduct engineering calculations, verify pipe properties and sizing, and support tenders with technical detail. You'll interact with Sales, Field Service, Distributors, and End Users to resolve issues and communicate technical information. You will also contribute to product literature, training, site visits, and field problem solving to drive reliable performance in oil field and piping applications.

Responsibilities
  • Review applications to align products with technical requirements
  • Serve as technical contact to ensure designs stay within specifications
  • Perform calculations on pipe properties, design verifications, flow, and sizing
  • Review specifications for compliance per project needs
  • Provide engineering support for internal/external customers (Sales, Field Service, Distributors, End Users)
  • Prepare technical packages and tender documents, including exceptions/clarifications
  • Provide technical training and presentations to employees, distributors, and customers
  • Maintain technical product literature aligned with QC and manufacturing
  • Visit job sites to address design, installation, and field failure issues and build customer technical relationships
  • Prepare technical reports; analyze product issues and incidents
  • Develop and verify product design/manufacturing solutions; participate in hands-on lab/manufacturing activities
  • Participate in product testing/qualification per industry standards
  • Design/draft models and drawings for machine shop; provide technical support
  • Other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in oil field and/or piping & pipelines
  • Experience with nonmetallic/composite materials and piping
  • Technical aptitude to understand engineering/design/product performance issues
  • Strong problem-solving, verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; MathCad; Autodesk Inventor/Solid Works or similar modeling software
  • Willingness for overnight and international travel
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Material Science) from an accredited institution
