Overview As Category Manager, you will lead sourcing and procurement strategy for designated commodities to secure cost-effective, reliable supply for renewable projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape category plans, leverage market insights, and drive supplier performance and risk management. Your role focuses on optimizing cost, quality, and delivery while advancing supply chain efficiency and strong supplier partnerships. This position offers impact across a growing renewables portfolio and exposure to multi-site procurement challenges.

Responsibilities- Develop multi-year commodity procurement strategies aligned with the renewable project pipeline
- Identify and engage internal stakeholders to capture category requirements
- Lead category sourcing using best-cost approaches informed by market intelligence and trends
- Monitor technology, policy, and regulatory shifts and adapt procurement strategies
- Create should-cost models to reveal cost drivers and opportunities
- Forecast material demand and build capacity models to inform actions
- Define supplier negotiation strategy and Total Cost of Ownership
- Evaluate and segment suppliers based on capabilities, risk, and value
- Lead supplier relationship management including vendor scorecards and quarterly business reviews
- Coordinate with estimating, engineering, legal, and construction teams on supply matters
- Oversee contract negotiations (MVAs and project terms) and ensure alignment with safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives
- Manage sourcing activities including RFPs, bids, and supplier evaluations
- Support project procurement from estimate to execution and validate budgets against pricing
- Track vendor notices related to tariffs, force majeure, and disruptions
- Mentor and supervise Buyers and procurement staff to align with contracts and strategies
- Provide procurement market insights to budgeting and decision-making
Key requirements- Seven+ years in strategic sourcing, commodity management, and/or contract negotiation
- Experience in the commodity focus area and construction industry preferred
- Knowledge of procurement and supplier management processes
- Strong analytical, negotiating, and contracting skills
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
