Overview

In this role you will serve as a technical expert for high-net-worth clients, developing sophisticated, goals-based wealth plans. You will collaborate with local and national teams to integrate investment, banking, wealth transfer, and tax efficiency. You guide clients through wealth planning, engage professional advisors, and support advisor growth and thought leadership. Your work helps expand client relationships and strengthen Northern Trust's integrated wealth management capabilities. Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive personal and family wealth profiles and goals-based plans integrating investment, banking, wealth transfer, and tax efficiency
  • Collaborate with local teams (Portfolio Managers, Trust Advisors, Banking Advisors) to implement wealth plans
  • Provide ongoing plan reviews and updates in response to material changes in client circumstances
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through new products and services
  • Contribute to marketing materials and thought leadership presentations
  • Mentor Wealth Advisors and Wealth Advisor Associates
  • Contribute to development of wealth planning resources, solutions, and products
  • Engage with professional advisors and networks through conferences and events
Key requirements
  • Expert knowledge in wealth transfer, taxation, estate planning, and wealth management services for high-net-worth clients
  • Broad technical and analytical skills in wealth planning, wealth transfer, tax, philanthropy, fiduciary practice, asset location and preservation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive consultative orientation
  • Minimum 7 years of wealth planning experience with high-net-worth clients
  • Advanced educational and professional designations such as CFP, JD, MBA or equivalent
