Overview As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will drive manufacturing efficiency at our Bolingbrook facility. You'll analyze downtime and throughput, build KPI dashboards, and lead high-visibility initiatives with cross-functional teams. You'll shape value streams, fixtures, and processes, ensuring designs meet specifications while promoting continuous improvement. This role offers hands-on engineering impact, collaboration across design, manufacturing, and operations, and exposure to strategic projects.

Responsibilities- Analyze production downtime, cycle time, and process data to identify trends and root causes
- Design and maintain KPI dashboards (e.g., Power BI) for throughput, quality, safety, and cost visibility
- Lead high-visibility initiatives and provide direction to resource teams
- Lead or facilitate value stream mapping to identify waste and prioritize improvements
- Inspect designed and built equipment to ensure compliance with specifications
- Develop and execute manufacturing processes, fixtures, templates, locators, and related tooling
- Build and maintain fixtures and miscellaneous equipment used in manufacturing
- Contribute to continuous improvement culture and submit improvement suggestions
- Provide programming assistance on manufacturing machines and train staff as needed
- Coordinate between design, engineering and manufacturing to align specifications and requirements
- Train manufacturing processes with management and support sourcing projects including reverse engineering for in-house production
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, local regulations and safety policies
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering or industrial technology
- Minimum 5 years' manufacturing experience
- Experience with scoping, creating ROIs, and onboarding new capital equipment
- Ability to travel up to 30-50% depending on project location
- Ability to read piece part and welding blueprints
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Strong mathematical abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with metal fabrication, bending, machining, and/or welding is a plus
- Experience with discrete and process-based manufacturing environments is a plus
- PLC programming and industrial automation experience is a plus
- IoT product implementation or data analytics experience is a plus
