Overview In this role you help clients navigate multistate sales and use tax to minimize exposure and optimize opportunities. You will lead and support SALT compliance and defense efforts across jurisdictions, and translate tax insights into business-friendly guidance. You'll manage engagements from scoping to delivery while partnering with cross-functional teams. You'll drive efficiency through technology, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a collaborative SALT practice that serves clients and communities.

Responsibilities- Research and advise on multistate sales and use tax issues (nexus, taxability, exemptions) to minimize client exposure
- Lead and support compliance engagements (return preparation, voluntary disclosures, audit defense) across multiple jurisdictions
- Identify tax savings opportunities and communicate actionable insights to clients in business-friendly language
- Manage engagements from scoping through delivery with increasing ownership of timelines, budgets, and client relationships
- Partner across CLA service lines (income tax, property tax, credits & incentives) to deliver integrated solutions
- Leverage technology and automation to drive efficiency, accuracy, and client experience
- Grow expertise through SALT training programs and exposure to complex multistate issues
- Mentor associates and interns to build a high-performing, collaborative SALT team
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in business consulting or services preferred
