Overview As a Senior Electrical Engineer for Mission Critical Facilities, you will lead technical design for data center projects and mentor the design team. You help shape scope, quality, and client-facing outcomes while coordinating across disciplines. You act as a trusted advisor in technical discussions, elevate design solutions, and drive standardization across centers. Responsibilities- Support business development input on RFPs/RFQs and participate in project interviews and presentations
- Manage technical process and scope within the discipline; monitor scope, schedule, and budget; resolve inconsistencies with the PM
- Delegate tasks to project engineers and designers within the discipline
- Follow QA/QC processes; perform project reviews and approvals prior to technical authority reviews
- Build and maintain client relations; communicate project requirements, progress, challenges, and solutions
- Lead technical discussions and mech workgroups; identify key requirements and adapt design to objectives
- Coordinate with all disciplines for integrated design and client requests
- Act as supervisor and resource for technical design team; support staff education and development
- Engage with the data center engineering community to stay current and pursue professional growth
- Identify opportunities to improve and standardize deliverables across Stantec MCF centers
- Contribute to development of design guides, technical memos, and calculation templates for data center design
Key requirements- Extensive experience in mission critical/data center design concepts
- Experience on large-scale projects with varied stakeholders
- Broad knowledge of engineering practices, codes, and standards in the discipline
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop multifaceted solutions
- Effective communication of scope, schedule, and budget to clients and teams
- Proficiency in Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit, Trace 700; knowledge of hydraulic modeling (Pipe-Flo) and CFD (Fluent, 6Sigma) preferred
- Understanding of construction processes and design interaction
- Ability to train others and independently resolve complex problems
- Accredited engineering degree or equivalent; PE license or equivalent certification
