Overview In this role you support compassionate, patient-focused care as part of Monument Health's Laboratory team. You will perform a range of routine tests, ensure specimen integrity, and help maintain quality and safety across the department. Responsibilities- Collect and prepare specimens for analyses while maintaining sample integrity
- Assess specimen acceptability and avoid issues like hemolysis or wrong anticoagulants
- Perform tests according to protocols with quality, speed, and accuracy
- Evaluate specimen quality and determine suitability for testing
- Report results promptly and ensure timely communication to physicians
- Investigate problems related to collection, reporting, and turnaround time
- Organize department workload for efficiency
- Calibrate and standardize equipment within acceptable performance limits
- Instruct staff and students; ensure smooth shift transitions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent (or high school plus military medical laboratory course)
- Certification as MLT (ASCP/AMT) or Military Laboratory Specialist
- 1+ years of laboratory experience (preferred)
