Overview In this role you will oversee field construction activities and ensure project alignment with designs and specs. You will collaborate with the project team to maintain records, manage inspections, and drive timely closeout. Your work directly supports reliable infrastructure delivery across Orange, Ulster, and Dutchess Counties. You will lead junior staff and coordinate with contractors to keep projects on track, quality, and compliant with codes.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, flagging conflicts
- Maintain daily records of contractor activities, labor, equipment, and materials
- Review construction materials for contract compliance
- Track quantities and prepare pay estimates
- Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings
- Observe installation and acceptance testing of equipment and systems
- Identify nonconforming work, develop punch lists, and monitor until corrected
- Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance
- Assist with project audit/closeout
- Supervise junior Resident Project Representatives and construction inspectors, testing services and subconsultants
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
- Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies
- Team-oriented attitude
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related packages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
