Overview

As Industrial Engineer at nVent you will lead end-to-end manufacturing system design, optimization, and performance management to boost throughput, safety, and efficiency. You will apply Lean and advanced analytics to reduce bottlenecks and operating costs while supporting NPI and cross-functional initiatives. This role drives plant-wide strategies and standardization to achieve key KPIs in quality, productivity, and cycle time. You will partner across functions to scale operations and implement sustainable improvements that align with our mission to connect and protect critical processes.

Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize manufacturing systems (layouts, workflows, material flow) to improve throughput and lead times
  • Drive safety, OEE, labor productivity, and utilization through data-driven Lean methods
  • Identify bottlenecks and improve flow, cycle time, and WIP
  • Lead cost-saving and safety improvement initiatives reducing unit and operating costs
  • Conduct time studies, capacity modeling, and simulations to optimize performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality metrics (FPY, defect rates, scrap)
  • Lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and track KPI impacts (safety, ergonomics, cost, productivity, cycle time)
  • Develop capacity models and staffing strategies to align demand and production capability
  • Support NPI with safety, manufacturability, scalability, and KPI alignment while standardizing practices
  • Establish and standardize engineering best practices, guidelines, and continuous improvement frameworks
Key requirements
  • 7+ years in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or operations optimization
  • Strong Lean manufacturing and process optimization expertise
  • Experience with production simulation software
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in dynamic production environments
