Senior Construction Manager - Aviation

Overview

In this role you will lead airport project delivery as the owner's liaison, guiding scope, budgets, and schedules. You will oversee design and construction teams to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes aligned with owner objectives and airport policies. You'll coordinate procurement, RFPs, and stakeholder interfaces, and manage compliance with plans, specs, and approvals. This position offers impact by shaping large-scale aviation projects and collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison and owner representative for the project
  • Develop and manage project scope to meet goals and objectives
  • Lead procurement process for designers and contractors
  • Direct project execution to achieve schedule and budget targets
  • Plan program goals, understand owner objectives and contract terms
  • Oversee technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project
  • Collaborate with airport management to develop budgets and schedules
  • Oversee owner's staff for full project delivery and stakeholder interfaces
  • Manage design process, resolve design issues, and review shop drawings and tests
  • Oversee the Design Manager and Design Review Team (DRT) throughout all design phases
  • Support permitting efforts and coordinate with design and contractor teams
  • Ensure work aligns with latest plans, changes, submittals, and RFIs
  • Familiarize with contractual obligations and technical aspects of facilities
Key requirements
  • 10 years or more of experience in airport projects
  • Experience with projects over $50 million
  • Experience with multiple delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, Design/Build)
  • Proven management capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Optional certifications (AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP) or similar licenses
