Overview

As Heavy Civil Superintendent, you will lead onsite delivery of ground-up and tilt-up construction, driving safe, on-time, on-budget performance. You'll manage field operations for site work, concrete, tilt-wall, and steel erection while coordinating with project teams. Your work directly supports project milestones, QA/QC, and regulatory compliance to ensure quality and efficiency. This role offers impact through hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and scale across industrial projects. You will shape project outcomes with a strong safety culture and meticulous planning.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise heavy civil and structural concrete field operations (site prep, earthwork, utilities, slabs, tilt-wall, steel setting).
  • Plan and sequence daily and long-range construction activities to meet schedule milestones.
  • Enforce safety programs and OSHA standards via toolbox talks, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Manage subcontractors, crews, materials, and equipment to optimize site productivity.
  • Oversee concrete operations and QA/QC including formwork, rebar, pours, and curing procedures.
  • Coordinate heavy equipment, crane lifts, and logistics for tilt-up panel and steel erection.
  • Conduct quality checks and review plans, shop drawings, submittals, and as-builts with project engineers.
  • Track schedule and cost performance, implement risk mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Manage site permits and coordinate inspections with local agencies and utilities.
Key requirements
  • 7+ years as Heavy Civil/Construction Superintendent on heavy civil, concrete, tilt-wall, and commercial/industrial projects.
  • Experience managing heavy civil, sitework, highway, industrial, and distribution center construction.
  • Knowledge of structural concrete, slab work, tilt-wall systems, and steel erection.
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, shop drawings, and geotechnical reports.
  • Proven track record leading crews, subcontractors, and equipment to meet schedule, quality, and safety goals.
  • Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, and other construction management tools.
