Overview In this role you lead the design and delivery of enterprise AI solutions for power and utilities, focusing on power generation and battery storage dispatch optimization. You own the solution strategy, coordinate cross-functional teams, and guide engagements from problem definition to production deployment. You work directly with customer operations and executives to translate engineering challenges into impactful AI and optimization solutions. The role blends deep domain expertise with leadership to drive measurable business outcomes in energy and assets-intensive environments. Responsibilities- Own the overall solution strategy, technical direction, and delivery outcomes for customer engagements from problem definition to production scale
- Serve as the primary customer-facing solution leader and domain expert, mapping operations, equipment, processes, constraints, and business objectives
- Identify and quantify high-impact opportunities across reliability, production performance, process optimization, throughput, yield, quality, and energy efficiency
- Translate engineering and operational challenges into AI, ML, optimization, and software problems with clear success criteria
- Lead engagements through use case definition, requirements, architecture, configuration, validation, deployment, and adoption at scale
- Guide cross-functional teams (Forward Deployed Engineers, data scientists, product managers, engineers) toward aligned customer outcomes
- Engage with customer engineers, operators, reliability teams, and executives to validate requirements, workflows, and business impact
- Interpret industrial data (signals, states, history, alarms, quality data) to solve customer problems
- Maintain accountability for solution quality, value, risks, progress, and executive communication
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to identify reusable capabilities and scale solutions across assets
- Support sales during opportunity assessment with problem framing, value articulation, requirements, deployment strategy, and demonstrations
- Assist in developing statements of work and deployment plans with defined scope, data needs, risks, and timelines
- Develop repeatable industry methodologies and best practices and represent C3 AI in customer and industry forums
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 7+ years in engineering, manufacturing, operations, reliability, maintenance, or technically focused consulting
- Deep experience in asset-intensive industries (power generation, oil & gas, chemicals, metals, etc.)
- Experience solving complex operational problems and improving equipment reliability and energy efficiency
- Strong understanding of industrial equipment, processes, and maintenance practices
- Experience with industrial data (sensor/time-series, alarms, production data) and industrial systems (SCADA, DCS, MES, ERP, etc.)
- Ability to translate domain and technical requirements for cross-functional teams
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
