Overview In this role you will serve as a trusted legal partner to Truist Securities' investment banking and capital markets business. You will advise on securities and M&A matters, manage legal risk, and support strategic transactions. You'll collaborate with internal clients and potentially supervise junior staff while staying abreast of evolving financial regulations. The role offers meaningful impact through shaping legal strategy for a large, complex financial institution. This position is office-based in multiple U.S. cities with a clear focus on enabling deal flow and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities- Provide significant internal client legal support day to day
- Assess legal risk, offer legal advice, and help resolve issues with potential exposure
- Stay current on legislation, regulations, and case law affecting the bank and banking sector
- Prepare/review documents, represent the company in transactions, conduct legal research and maintain records
- Identify need for and, when necessary, engage and direct outside counsel
- Contribute as an individual contributor while possibly guiding other legal staff on active matters
Key requirements- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice law in good standing
- Eight years of post-bar experience in a law firm, government, or corporate setting
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and switch between matters
- Ability to handle heavy workload, manage stress, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously without close supervision
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office
