Overview

In this Field Application Scientist role, you support clinical and forensic customers across pre-sales and post-sales activities. You help customers implement Waters LC/MS solutions, both on-site and remotely, and you demonstrate capabilities in our demo labs. You collaborate with sales, service, and customers to analyze data, troubleshoot, and drive actionable recommendations. You will be a trusted advisor, enabling customers to advance their laboratory operations and Waters' leadership in clinical LC-MS diagnostics. This position offers global exposure, rigorous development, and opportunities to impact high unmet needs in a fast-growing field.

Responsibilities
  • Train and support customers with Waters LC/MS instruments remotely and on-site
  • Demonstrate Waters clinical solutions through sample analyses in demo labs
  • Support sales with technical expertise during visits, trade shows, and meetings
  • Collaborate with service to analyze data, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Manage customer expectations by communicating work performed and follow-up plans
  • Build trusted advisor relationships to provide guidance on Waters products and services and identify growth opportunities
Key requirements
  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 1-2 years of experience, or Master of Science with 3-5 years, or Bachelor with >5 years LC/MS experience
  • expertise in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry method development and troubleshooting
  • familiarity with Waters instruments and software (Waters_Connect and MassLynx) a plus
  • experience with tandem MS and high-resolution MS
  • experience in large molecule applications related to LC-MS (peptide mapping, peptide quantitation, proteins, nanoflow chromatography)
  • clinical or forensic LC-MS/MS workflow understanding an advantage
  • willingness to travel 50-75% across US and Canada; valid driver's license and passport
  • Spanish language is a plus but not required
