Overview As a Fire Protection Engineer at Arcadis, you will lead the fire protection discipline across multiple projects, collaborating with engineers, architects, and clients. You'll drive design and coordination from pursuit through construction, including site surveys and data collection. Expect travel for project work and a focus on heavy industrial, commercial, and data center facilities. You'll shape construction-ready packages and mentor junior staff while advancing life-safety and fire protection solutions for federally funded and complex facilities.

Responsibilities- Lead design teams to deliver construction-ready fire protection drawings and specs with inter-disciplinary coordination
- Mentor junior staff and manage project staffing, budgets, and schedules
- Develop proposals, budgets, and client opportunities; pursue new projects
- Utilize design and modeling tools (Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.) for coordinated designs
- Conduct fire protection site surveys and data collection in collaboration with client teams
- Design fire protection systems for heavy industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and data center facilities
- Apply life-safety codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, UL, NESC) in design
- Prepare IFC design packages for federal agency facilities
Key requirements- Bachelor of Science in mechanical or fire protection engineering
- Fire Protection Professional Engineering License in the United States (PE)
- Extensive experience producing IFC design packages for federal facilities
- Deep knowledge of life safety codes and industry standards
- Advanced understanding of fire alarm and suppression systems, smoke control, and related technologies
