Quality Engineer - Supply Chain

Overview

In this role you drive quality-focused process improvements within a Walmart Distribution Center, leading top losses out of the process and building capability across area managers. You will apply Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and WPS methodologies to reduce variation, support KPI improvements, and develop standard work. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy best practices and ensure ethical, customer-centric outcomes. Responsibilities
  • Lead process-improvement activities using 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time-motion studies to reduce quality losses
  • Analyze KPIs, create standard work, and drive loss elimination within the distribution center
  • Review and advise on quality-focused improvement projects owned by area managers
  • Compile deviations to One Best Way playbooks and provide input to improvement teams
  • Support tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program and manage top-quality losses projects
  • Build capabilities of area managers and associates through coaching and development
  • Create area quality loss profiles and performance metrics, and develop gap analyses for WPS integration
  • Support department managers with WPS programs, projects, engagement, and KPI improvements
  • Lead quality-related savings initiatives and promote adherence to company policies and ethics
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices and build stakeholder relationships to implement business solutions
  • Coordinate and oversee related activities, set goals, measure progress, and drive continuous learning
  • Supervise and develop associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, and recognizing contributions
  • Ensure compliance with policies and support Walmart's mission and ethics
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in Quality/Process Improvement
