Overview As Mechanical Engineer II at JR Automation (Hitachi Group), you will help design, develop and execute automation solutions for manufacturing challenges. You'll work onsite in Greenville and contribute to projects in a collaborative, growth-focused team. You'll apply standard engineering methods, drive improvements, and solve nonroutine design problems with autonomy. This role offers visibility into impactful automation work and opportunities to influence team decisions within a global engineering culture.
Responsibilities- Build and develop automation design concepts and technical outputs for projects
- Evaluate and apply standard techniques to conventional projects with limited complexity
- Collaborate to adapt methods for nonroutine aspects and small project scopes
- Review others' technical outputs and influence team decisions
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with minimal supervision
- Identify and implement significant design and workflow improvements
- Recognize automation-related design opportunities and apply improvements
Key requirements- 3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
- FE Exam or EIT desirable
- Strong grasp of standard and advanced engineering principles
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment
- Travel up to 25% (including overnight/international)
- Prior JR Automation or automation industry experience preferred
