Overview In this role you own the commercialization of products from hand-off to buy-ready status, coordinating with cross-functional partners to meet calendar, quality, and profitability targets. You will lead outerwear development through bulk production, ensuring design intent, performance, and cost goals are met. The position emphasizes collaboration with Design, Production, Materials, and factories to optimize speed to market and product integrity. You will drive continuous improvement and support marketing with accurate product copy and features, delivering high-quality goods.

Responsibilities- Collaborate with Design, Buying, Tech Design, Materials, Production, and external partners to execute product development and IMU goals.
- Foster strong factory partnerships to enable seamless development through bulk production within critical dates, quality, sustainability, and margin targets.
- Coordinate with Materials to address end-use requirements including quality, sustainability, and costing.
- Analyze cost data in PLM and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficient manufacturing.
- Ensure accurate information and communications to support execution.
- Work with Materials and suppliers on testing to meet brand expectations; manage materials commercialization and risk assessment.
- Plan and communicate development calendars; manage hand-off to production vendors; troubleshoot issues.
- Present alternative construction options to meet margin goals while preserving design and functionality.
- Drive continuous improvement with suppliers and design teams to develop construction guides and feature packages; apply learnings season to season.
- Compile accurate copy and product features for marketing, events, and online content.
- Streamline processes to improve efficiency and agility; pursue speed to market and improved resource use.
- Manage multi-season development calendars and report progress in PLM; ensure schedules and quality targets are met.
- Maintain strong internal and external communication to ensure finished goods meet plans; demonstrate leadership across product teams.
- Travel internationally to visit vendors for development and cost negotiations.
Key requirements- 12 years of experience in technical or performance outerwear development (ski, snowboarding, rainwear, outdoor).
- Strong understanding of functional garment construction, fabric performance, and technical specs.
- Experience with waterproof/breathable laminates, taped seams, insulated systems, and functional trims.
- Knowledge of global sourcing, manufacturing, and costing processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe software, PLM systems.
