Engineering Specialist, Process

In this role you will apply engineering principles to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes for Final Transmission Assembly, driving safety, quality, cost and productivity improvements. You will work with cross-functional teams to investigate issues, lead process audits, and implement corrective actions while ensuring compliance with standards. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to shape efficient production, lean initiatives, and ergonomic improvements in a global manufacturing environment.

• Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity for Final Transmission Assembly
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost and productivity
• Apply engineering principles to establish and improve manufacturing processes and products
• Develop action plans to investigate and verify corrective actions on internal and supplier processes
• Lead and conduct process audits to ensure discipline aligns with Vehicle Operations guidelines
• Conduct job ergonomic evaluations and implement corrective actions
• Analyze vehicle inventory root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce inventory
• Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes
• Lead role in resolving assembly-related concerns and drive lean initiatives
• Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standards
• Back up ISO 14001 compliance and support internal ISO auditing
• Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements
• Develop backup processes to sustain production throughput

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 or more years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
• FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or equivalent
• Effective oral and written communication skills (preferred)
• 2 or more years in the automotive industry (preferred)
• 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving skills (preferred)
• Solid understanding of Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, Value Stream Mapping (preferred)
• Familiarity with DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) methodology (preferred)
• Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen Methods (preferred)
• Validated experience with Visual Factory Management (preferred)
• Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience (preferred)
