Overview In this role you lead Quality Engineering activities to ensure customer satisfaction and QMS compliance across the product lifecycle. You drive quality performance, risk management, and cost of non-quality reduction while aligning with certification requirements. You will partner with cross-functional teams to enable design-to-production quality, audits, and continuous improvement. The position offers an opportunity to shape quality strategy, lean initiatives, and industry 4.0 enhancements in a complex aviation context.
Responsibilities- Build and mentor Quality Engineering teams including talent management and compliance
- Maintain and improve QMS and certifications (ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9120, RBAC 21)
- Coordinate audits with certification bodies, customers, and regulators
- Lead CAPA processes from design through operation
- Deploy quality planning tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, sampling)
- Oversee readiness activities, FAI monitoring, and qualification programs
- Manage metrology, dimensional inspection, and conformity to engineering specs
- Drive digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives for quality analytics and software
- Implement KPI-driven quality and Lean methodologies
- Manage budgeting, resources, and performance targets
- Support product/aircraft development by embedding quality requirements early
- Oversee calibration, nondestructive testing, and lab validation
- Ensure control of documentation for aircraft, product, and regulatory needs
- Oversee MRB and nonconformance documentation
- Lead continuous improvement focused on customer satisfaction, quality, and cost reduction
- Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives, FARs, and service bullets; act as FAA liaison for maintenance reports
Key requirements- Bachelor degree in Engineering; postgraduate degree or MBA preferred
- 3+ years in Quality, Manufacturing, or Product Engineering or 2+ years in supervisory leadership roles
- Strong leadership and talent development ability
- Business and risk management proficiency
- Project management experience (Agile and traditional)
- Lean manufacturing and CI experience
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and RBAC 21
