Overview As a Privacy by Design Engineer, you design and operationalize privacy controls across enterprise data platforms, analytics, AI, and vehicle systems. You collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Data Governance, Product, and Vehicle Engineering to translate regulatory requirements into reusable protections. Your focus includes vehicle data privacy, ensuring privacy is embedded from inception through the lifecycle. This role offers impact across software, data, and vehicle ecosystems with a strong emphasis on audit readiness and responsible innovation.

Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain privacy-by-design solutions for enterprise and vehicle systems
- Engineer controls protecting personal, sensitive, and regulated data across the data lifecycle
- Build and operationalize privacy-enhancing technologies and reusable services
- Develop technical specifications and artifacts for privacy capabilities
- Participate in design reviews and guide privacy engineering practices
- Support implementation and troubleshooting of privacy controls for development teams
- Contribute to privacy engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practices
- Serve as Privacy Engineering SME within assigned programs and initiatives
- Embed privacy requirements into data, analytics, AI, software, and vehicle development processes
- Collaborate with product/platform teams to address privacy during solution design
- Support privacy reviews and solution assessments for new initiatives
- Assist in audits, regulatory reviews, and documenting control effectiveness
- Monitor privacy controls and support remediation of risks or gaps
- Communicate best practices across the software engineering community
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- 7+ years in software/platform engineering, cybersecurity, or related disciplines
- Experience implementing privacy, security, data protection, or governance controls
- Strong understanding of Privacy by Design and data protection concepts
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Data Governance)
