South Eastern Regional Safety Manager

Overview

In this role you lead regional EHS strategies across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT while fostering a world-class safety culture. You will drive incident investigations, risk assessments, and CAPAs, and coordinate training and emergency planning. You collaborate with site leaders, HR, Legal, and Operations to ensure cohesive safety practices and regulatory readiness, and you present insights to senior leadership to guide improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop regional EHS strategies, policies, and procedures ensuring regulatory compliance across sites
  • Lead incident investigations (near-misses, first aids) using RCA methodologies and implement CAPAs
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and JHAs to proactively identify hazards
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training and emergency response programs
  • Engage with site leadership, Operations, and external agencies for cohesive safety practices
  • Develop and test site-specific EAPs and crisis response procedures
  • Evaluate new equipment/processes from an EHS perspective
  • Facilitate regional and site-level safety committees
  • Support rollout of company-wide EHS initiatives within the region
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Operations on safety-related employee relations issues
  • Serve as primary SME for regulatory inspections and reporting
  • Analyze regional safety metrics to identify risks and inform leadership
  • Be the point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and inquiries
Key requirements
  • 7-10 years in an EHS role with at least 3 years in management or multi-site capacity
  • Master's degree in occupational health and safety or related field
  • Professional certification such as CSP or CIH (or similar)
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA General Industry 1910, EPA, and DOT regulations
  • Proven incident investigation and RCA experience (5-Why, Fishbone)
  • Experience with JHA/JSA and hierarchy of controls
  • Data analysis skills using Excel and EHS platforms
  • Foundational Industrial Hygiene knowledge
  • Ergonomics assessment skills
