Overview As Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer, you will lead electrical controls projects for JM's Insulation Systems manufacturing operations, blending hands on project leadership with internal consulting. You'll scope, design, justify, implement, and train facilities on a wide range of industrial electrical and control system initiatives. This role emphasizes on site collaboration, complex project delivery, and adherence to safety and technical standards. You'll work across North American facilities with a focus on delivering measurable benefits through capital projects.

Responsibilities- Perform power and electrical control systems engineering for project scopes
- Create and review electrical specifications for equipment and processes
- Support Corporate Electrical Group in standards implementation
- Assist manufacturing operations with electrical safety initiatives
- Provide end-to-end project management across multiple concurrent projects
- Ensure compliance with technical specs and contracts for equipment/services
- Coordinate and manage supplier/contractor activities on and off site, including commissioning and training
- Develop bid packages, supplier lists, and evaluations; support purchasing decisions
- Oversee project budget, schedule, scope, and deliverables to realize expected benefits
- Coordinate external engineering resources and consultants as needed
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for remote facilities
- Balance 70-80% project work with plant support and standards development
- Provide direction/mentoring to junior engineers
- Lead or contribute to large complex projects with budgets >$5M
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
- Minimum 5 years in control systems engineering in manufacturing
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E Electrical Safety standards
- Ability to lead multi discipline teams and meet milestones
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Willingness to travel 40-60%
- Experience with projects in North America
- Preferred: experience with 480V and 4160V power distribution systems
