Overview In this role you own Proterra's data platform end-to-end, guiding the pipelines from ERP, manufacturing, and telemetry into an AWS data lakehouse and the business-ready consumption layer in Power BI. You set technical standards, lead critical sequencing decisions, and partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product to deliver reliable data products. You will drive analytics readiness through CI/CD, data governance, and security, enabling AI and predictive maintenance initiatives. This is a high-impact, leadership-backed engineering role in a lean team.

Responsibilities- Design, build, and operate the AWS Data Lakehouse and pipelines from Oracle E-Business Suite, Ignition, Visual Factory, 3DX, and telemetry
- Deliver the business consumption layer with dashboards and data products in Power BI (Clear to Build, Quality dashboards, Item Master, PPAP, SPI, production reporting)
- Sequence data pipelines through ERP upgrades and cloud migration, including regression testing of analytics feeds
- Rebuild telemetry and warranty data layer post-Palantir, re-establishing critical data relationships and front-end delivery via Battery360
- Prepare data foundation for the EU Digital Battery Passport across bill of materials, sourcing, and health data
- Set and enforce ingestion, transformation, modeling, quality, and governance standards; lead code/design reviews
- Document pipelines, models, and runbooks to ensure workforce redundancy
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product to translate business questions into robust data products
- Implement monitoring, automation, and CI/CD; own platform cost, performance, and reliability on AWS
- Build data foundations for analytics and AI use cases under the company's governance policies
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance; provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team
Key requirements- 6-8+ years in data engineering with technical leadership experience
- Proven ownership of a production cloud data platform (not just pipelines)
- Experience integrating ERP and manufacturing data; Oracle E-Business Suite and Ignition preferred
- Track record delivering business-facing analytics and dashboards
- AWS data/analytics certifications and Microsoft Power BI certification preferred
