Overview As a Process Engineer at Flex in Milpitas, you will develop, improve, and sustain PCBA manufacturing processes with a focus on cost, quality, delivery, and yield. You'll work with cross functional teams and customers to define specs, toolings, and DFA recommendations, and lead NPI and process qualification efforts. Your role covers process documentation, tooling design, and continuous improvement to enable reliable production ramps. You'll apply data driven methods to cut defects and boost productivity, contributing to Flex's high tech electronics manufacturing capabilities. Responsibilities- Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, delivery, and productivity goals within schedules and budgets
- Collaborate with customers and cross functional teams to define product specs, tooling requirements, and provide Design for Manufacturing recommendations
- Lead new product introduction (NPI), technology transfers, and process qualification activities, supporting production ramp ups
- Develop, maintain, and update process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures in line with ECOs
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids; apply statistical process control and continuous improvement to improve yield and reduce defects
- Train and support production teams on new processes and technologies; serve as technical interface for internal and external stakeholders
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in electronic server, communications, or electronics manufacturing environments
- Experience in assembly and electro mechanical manufacturing processes (development, optimization, validation, sustaining)
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with data driven yield, quality, productivity improvements
- Experience with NPI, process qualification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering; proficient in Microsoft Office; strong technical communication
