Overview

Join Stantec's Kentucky roadways team as a Transportation Drainage Engineer to shape drainage design for transportation projects across the region. You will work with a multidisciplinary group to develop compliant, high quality plans that meet state and federal standards. Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain client and project team relationships to keep projects moving
  • Lead and coordinate engineers and technicians to deliver high quality drainage solutions
  • Gather and analyze data to inform smarter drainage design for transportation projects
  • Perform and review drainage calculations, studies, and reports
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute technical insights
  • Contribute to proposals and technical documentation that win projects
  • Follow design standards and help improve team workflows
  • Support client and stakeholder communication with professionalism
  • Engage in business development and strengthen client relationships
  • Collaborate with project managers across clients, subconsultants, and internal teams
  • Keep engineering knowledge and skills up to date
  • Mentor teammates to foster learning and growth
Key requirements
  • Proficiency with MicroStation
  • Experience with ORD Drainage, HEC RAS (including scour analysis), STORMCAD, HY 8, and other KYTC drainage tools
  • Strong teamwork and adaptability across multiple projects
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and collaborate with multiple project managers
  • OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; EIT registration required; PE license preferred
