Senior Process Mechanical Design Engineer

In this role you will lead mechanical design and process integration for water and wastewater facilities within Arcadis' California Water team. You'll develop construction documents, basis of design, and equipment specifications, coordinating across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions. You'll assess options, prepare cost estimates, and mentor junior engineers while supporting business development and proposals. The position focuses on vital water infrastructure and impactful, collaborative project delivery.

• Lead mechanical design and process integration for water and wastewater facilities
• Develop construction documents and detailed specifications for pumps, valves, gates and related systems
• Establish basis of design, perform calculations, and document recommendations
• Size and select equipment, evaluate design options and prepare cost estimates
• Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines for integrated designs
• Prepare process flow narratives and conduct hydraulic analyses
• Participate in project management activities including budget and schedule tracking
• Support business development and contribute to proposals
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct quality control reviews

• B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
• 10 years of relevant process mechanical engineering experience in water and wastewater facilities
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in California
• Proficient in CAD and BIM, strong MS Office skills
• Strong communication, multi-tasking, and team collaboration abilities
• Experience with design bid-build or alternative delivery projects
• Mechanical or Civil P.E. preferred for advanced roles
• 15+ years of experience preferred (for some roles)
