Overview As a Technologist Trainee in our Durham, NC facility, you will support immunophenotyping by flow cytometry for leukemia and lymphoma diagnostics. You will work within a flow cytometry-focused team, contributing to accurate testing and timely results that impact patient care. The role blends hands-on technical work with ongoing training, enabling you to grow into a professional lab technologist. You will collaborate across the lab to maintain quality and safety while adopting Labcorp's data-driven approaches. Responsibilities- Assess specimen acceptability based on set criteria
- Execute routine and complex procedures per SOPs
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot lab instrumentation
- Make technical decisions in testing and problem solving
- Prepare and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Accurately report test results to support patient care
- Perform preventative maintenance and quality control
- Manage testing supplies and assist with specimen processing
- Maintain safe work practices and PPE usage
Key requirements- Bachelor in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 3 months+ clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Understanding of lab operations and policies
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficiency with computers and lab information systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet physical requirements and pass color vision test
- Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts
