Overview In this role you will prepare electrical estimates for battery energy storage systems, with secondary support for photovoltaic projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams from the Renewable Group to translate specifications into quantified bids. The position blends office-based estimating with field insights to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure timely bid delivery. You will leverage your technical expertise to shape competitive proposals and support smooth project turnover.

Responsibilities- Review proposal specs and drawings to define scope and estimate requirements
- Perform takeoffs and input scope into estimating system
- Quantify bid package items including subcontracted work, equipment rentals, tools, and supplier costs
- Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors, solicit quotes, and evaluate submissions against plans
- Review scope, technical requirements, and pricing before issuing bid packages
- Use Accubid Anywhere for labor allocation and material takeoffs; contribute to Accubid Manager improvements
- Support project turnover by reviewing estimates, scope, quotes, and key considerations with the project team
- Prepare scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications to support estimate values
- Collaborate with field teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Supervise and train estimating staff as needed
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Complete client-required documents on time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of electrical estimating or directly related experience
- Ability to understand substation, transmission, switchyard, energy storage, and electrical design components
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Accubid
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Collaborative and professional communication with internal teams and external partners
- Creative problem-solving to reduce costs and support schedule requirements
