Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design for phased array antennas, subsystems, and interfaces from concept to space flight
- Conduct architecture trades and define system requirements and block diagrams
- Perform analyses, manufacturing planning, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support
- Produce engineering design review materials for customers and executive team
- Contribute to proposal-writing efforts and cross-functional collaboration
Key requirements- BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 4 years of space antenna and payload mechanical engineering experience (electronics packaging, thermal, shock, vibration, stress dynamics, cost)
- Experience with architectural trade studies and parametric/first-order cost analysis
- Proficiency with CAD/FEA tools (Ansys Mechanical, SolidWorks Simulation, Thermal Desktop)
- Experience with CNC manufacturing and GD&T
- Experience with aerospace materials and manufacturing (sandwich panels, carbon composites) or high-reliability deployment mechanisms
- Proficiency in detailed mechanical design (3D CAD, drawings) and designing/manufacturing mechanisms and actuators
- Experience with EMI/EMC mitigation, satellite thermal architectures, and LEO launch environment
- Familiarity with design for test, manufacturability, assembly, reliability
