Overview

In this role you lead the end-to-end development of Axon's Nitro/Markham hardware line, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver a flagship consumer TASER. You will drive schedules, budgets, and risk management from concept to launch, aligning with product strategy and manufacturing partners. You will work with diverse engineering disciplines to balance trade-offs and ensure a reliable, scalable product that serves customers well. Responsibilities
  • Manage 4-5 cross-functional workstreams to align with the launch timeline
  • Drive end-to-end hardware product development on time, on budget, at cost, and with reliability
  • Lead program reviews with senior management and exec teams
  • Collaborate with Product Management to frame trade-offs and select optimal solutions
  • Build relationships with Axon, suppliers, and contract manufacturers
  • Own program budget and schedule; guide from concept through launch
  • Coordinate with diverse teams (electrical, mechanical, industrial design, software, firmware, manufacturing)
  • Travel to contract manufacturers or vendors for build readiness and development
  • Perform strategic process development and reporting as needed
  • Contribute as a key stakeholder in major decisions
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in hardware development program management
  • 5+ years building processes, project management, and schedules
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, business, or equivalent experience
  • Delivered a hardware product with software components and tracked schedules/budgets
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles and development
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly
  • Strong conflict resolution and dependency management
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Eligibility for export control license (CEW pillar)
