Analytics Engineer

Job description

Overview

In this role you will design, build, and scale analytics-ready data assets that empower reporting and self-service analytics across Medpace. You'll bridge data engineering and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, governance, and performant data solutions. You will help define analytics engineering standards and mentor others as we grow Medpace's next generation analytics platform. This is a hands-on, collaborative role that drives data-driven decision making across the enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver scalable data models, semantic layers, and analytics-ready datasets
  • Enable reporting and self-service analytics to support enterprise decision-making
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, performance, and governance across solutions
  • Establish analytics engineering standards and best practices
  • Mentor analysts, engineers, and junior team members
  • Collaborate with data engineering, stakeholders, and analytics consumers to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Drive adoption of self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise
  • Partner with leadership to solve complex business challenges
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, BI, Data Warehousing, or related data discipline
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, dimensional modeling, and semantic layer design
  • Experience developing business-friendly semantic models and enterprise data structures
  • Experience with Microsoft BI technologies and Snowflake
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience implementing analytics engineering best practices (testing, documentation, version control, deployment)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies; Scrum preferred
