Overview In this role you will contribute to mill-wide process optimization and safety by joining either the Process Engineer or Process Controls Engineer track. You will analyze data, drive improvements, and support capital projects through cross-functional collaboration. The position emphasizes safety, cost reductions, and consistent performance across process or control systems. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape efficiency and reliability in a multi-mill environment.
Responsibilities- Support safety, environmental, quality, and product safety expectations across process areas
- Analyze data to identify trends and support business decisions
- Drive process optimization via studies, troubleshooting, lean projects, and technology implementation
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors for process modifications and capital projects
- Provide control system direction and troubleshooting for PLC, DCS, HMI, and related systems (Process Controls path)
- Plan, program, maintain, and improve process control systems in collaboration with teams
- Support process improvements and capital projects through design, startup, and tuning
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in chemical, paper engineering, or related field
- 0-4 years of experience in process engineering or paper industry
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with AutoCad, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project
- Effectively communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities
